Statistical Synopsis
Note: The content of this chapter has received no revision since the 1989 edition, and no longer matches the rest of the work, which now lists over 1500 descendants. We have however left it here for its possible historical interest.
The following statistics illustrate the growth of the Flint family (so far as traced in the text) and the increasing chronological spread and consequent overlapping of successive generations. The data on the first three generations is probably close to complete. Children whose names are not known are not counted, nor adopted children, nor descendants of the latter.
The first table is arranged according to natural generations, and the second chronologically. The counts in Table I are slightly incomplete; the correct totals are as given in Table II.
