Genealogical Gems from the Internet ArchiveCollected by John Blythe Dobson In the course of managing my genealogy site (where contact details for me can be found), I frequently find that valuable fulltext sources and finding aids I have cited have completely disappeared from the Web, and I have had to change the link to point to the copy in the Internet Archive (with which the present site has no official connection). Relatively little of the content of the Archive is currently searchable, and a document can generally only be found if its old address is known. Because these addresses cannot be found in a general-purpose Internet search engine such as Google, I have decided to preserve some of my personal favorites by linking to the archival copies, in their most recent versions. Suggestions which are in keeping with the subject matter of this page are welcome. If I discover, or am informed, that a page listed here is actually still available on the web, or that it has been withdrawn from the Internet Archive itself, I will immediately delete the link. Anyone wishing to request the removal of a link for any other reason is asked to read my policy page before contacting me.
