Submission guidelines

The editor welcomes submissions of suitable material for publication on this site, whether of new articles, corrections to existing ones, or commentary. It may be helpful to present ideas for discussion before producing the finished piece. Manuscripts intended for consideration must be original work not previously submitted elsewhere, must be submitted electronically in WordPerfect, MS Word, HTML, or some other major text-based format, and if accepted will be reformatted as necessary. Images may be submitted as GIF, JPF, or BMP attachments, but need not necessarily accompany the initial submission. Paper copies are not required, and please do not send valuable original documents in the mail.

All correspondence should be conducted by email if possible, by post otherwise, and never by telephone without prior arrangement. Please include with your first inquiry at least a postal address or telephone number, in case it should prove impossible to reply to your email.

Authors will be required to cede copyright to Miscellanea Manitobiana, to allow for the possibility of republication, such as in an anthology. This agreement is not exclusive, and does not affect the rights of authors to republish their contributions themselves, should they desire.

As stated on the home page, this site is dedicated to the publication of compiled genealogies and family histories. At the present time we have no intention of including expository articles, but we would consider previously-unpublished source material if it is sufficiently interesting.

Miscellanea Manitoba does not publish queries.
